We strive to work with local suppliers and partners to reduce our carbon footprint and support the local economy.

We hope that by inspiring more individuals to appreciate our natural resources, practicing self-care and taking steps to reduce their ecological footprint on this earth, it will help drive change in the world.

What does "carbon footprint" mean?

noun

“the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere as a result of the activities of a particular individual, organization, or community.”

How can you lower your carbon footprint?

It is incredibly surprising and a little daunting to know how much we are responsible for harmful CO2 emissions in our everyday life. A little change may not seem like it will make a difference, but if all of us make small changes to the way we live, it can have a positive impact in the world.

Drive less

Ask yourself, do I need to drive to get my Sunday morning coffee? A stroll will not only start my day off nicely but also instantly lower my carbon footprint. Is carpooling an option to go to work? This small change can make a big difference and you can enjoy a companion on your drive. Ride your bike in your neighbourhood or when possible and take time to be in nature.

Plant a garden

No matter where you live, planting some greens is a quick and easy way to reduce your carbon footprint. It can be as simple as planting a few native trees in your background, grow your own herbs on the balcony or make a small garden of fruit and vegetables to harvest during the year. Trees absorb CO2 and release oxygen in exchange. Growing your own herbs and veggies may help lower the number of times you need to drive to the shops. Did you know, ECO. have a plant-a-tree program. You can learn more about it here.

Eat local

Whenever possible, try to eat local, in-season produce. Not only will this support small local businesses and your community, sticking to foods that are grown locally, in your own city or surrounding area, will also help reduce the carbon footprint created by shipping foods from elsewhere.

Recycle

Say no thank you to single-use plastic items and recycle where possible. Before putting a product in the recycling, try to reuse it first. The more lives you can give a single item, the better. We partner with TerraCycle to recycle all ECO. products ensuring none of them end up in landfill. This applies to our entire product range including essential oils glass bottles, plastic pumps and caps as well as PET skincare containers. The plastics are sorted into various types of plastics then melted to be moulded into new recycled plastic products.

We encourage everybody to bring awareness and action for the protection of our environment.
