We have had the absolute pleasure of working hand in hand with Coconut Bowls to create our very own, ECO. branded Coconut Bowl & Cutlery Set. We wanted to share a little more about Coconut Bowls & how this collaboration came together.

ECO. & Coconut Bowls share the mission of reducing & replacing single use waste with natural products that inspire a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. They’re a goal oriented bunch of coconuts and like the coco tree they aim high. By 2025 they’re aiming to have; 10,000 cafes and 3 million households swapping single use plastic for all natural products, 100 jobs created for artisans in rural Vietnam, $500,000 donated through 1% for the Planet, and 10 million people part of Coco Community.

Their story is real, raw & organic and we have loved learning more on this collaborative journey.

Coconut Bowls Story

"In between surfs in Bali, our Founder Jake had a vision that wasted Coconut Shells could be used as a resource! He saw local crafts people sanding and polishing these Coconut Shells into bowls and wondered if these could be bowls people could eat from? They're the perfect size, shape and a completely natural resource! So Jake had 100 made, packed them into his surfboard bag and returned to Australia confident that his friends and family would like some “Coconut Bowls”.

Back home Jake kept his tropical travel memories alive by serving up healthy smoothies in Coconut Bowls each morning. They looked so good he had to share them on Instagram. Soon Jake and friends were sharing breakfast every morning, people saw them, wanted to buy them and within a month Jake had no more Coconut Bowls.

Coconut Bowls have now become the bowl of choice for Smoothie Bowls, breakfasts and other plant-based meals! As we have grown, so has our product range! We have continued to turn to nature to create Bamboo Straws, Cups, Coconut Candles, Cups and Reusable Wooden Cutlery. Our Community has expanded to over 5 million people globally that follow, use and snap and share their Coco Creations on a daily basis!"

Tell us more about your comittment to sustainability.

"Coconut Bowls is more than just a brand - we’re a movement for global sustainability. Beyond our sustainable materials, production, packaging and shipping, we’re committed to sustainable social and economic practices. We believe the privilege of doing business means actively investing in our planet."

1% For the Planet - "On July 1st 2019 - Coconut Bowls became a verified member of 1% for the planet. We’re part of a global community and that means contributing to positive change. Our responsibility is to ensure we have a positive impact on people and the planet at every step of the Coconut Bowls journey."

Carbon Neutral Shipping - "Through our partnership with Cool Effect, we offset all of the carbon created from shipping our products from the farm to your front door. By choosing to have localised warehouses in our major business regions we are able to transport Coconut Bowls by sea rather than air. While it takes longer to arrive, the carbon emissions from ocean freight are minuscule compared with air freight."

Socially Sustainable - "To us social sustainability starts with our connection to real people. We are committed to paying our artisans a minimum of 30% above ETI base code, creating healthy working spaces and ensuring gender equality. Stability, equality and safety at work are not privileges, they are the foundation our business has been built upon."

Community Beach Clean Ups & Build Your Own Brekkie Bowls - "We are committed to hosting monthly Community Beach Clean ups in our local Byron Bay Shire to promote the protection of our beautiful beaches and land we are so lucky to call home. We hope to create a welcoming, comfortable and fun environment where locals and visitors can come together and share their sustainable journey!"

Do you use essential oils and if so, how do you use them?

"We love essential oils! Our office actually smells like a massage studio thanks to ECO., we use our diffuser every day with various earthy, beachy and dreamy blends that make our work space relaxing and comfortable.

We also love to use oils for their calming benefits at night in a sleep spray or roll on perfume.

Another way we like to use Citrus essential oils is in DIY cleaning products, Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree and Grapefruit. They’re natural antibacterial properties are wonderful for cleaning dirt and grime at home."
